Willamette Falls Heritage Foundation, a nonprofit focused on West Linn history and ongoing preservation and advocacy for heritage sites near Willamette Falls, is seeking applicants to its board of directors.
Directors will serve two-year terms guiding and implementing the foundation’s priorities, programs, fundraising and community activities.
Since 2001, the nonprofit’s mission has been to preserve and promote the history and magnificence of Willamette Falls so that it may live in the minds and imagination of people of all ages. Recent projects include leadership in preventing the closure of Willamette Falls Locks; production of two full-length documentary movies on mill work at Crown Zellerbach International; local history curriculum for the West Linn-Wilsonville School District; management of Lock Fest; coordination of three “Art Contemplates Industry” exhibits featuring historic hydropower plants; among other things.
Applicants with a strong interest in local heritage and/or architectural preservation and prior non-profit board experience will be favored, but all interested parties are invited to examine the foundation’s Web site, at www.willamettefalls.org, and send a written statement of their qualifications and interest in historic preservation.
