Alyce ‘Sid’ Martin


Lifelong West Linn resident Alyce “Sid” Martin died of heart failure Dec. 15, 2009. She was 87.

Mrs. Martin was born Feb. 16, 1922, in Willamette to Ewalt and Evelyn Leisman. She attended West Linn High School and attended Willamette United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Martin married Keith Martin on May 15, 1946 in Reno, Nev. Mr. Martin died Jan. 6, 2004.

Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law Kimberly and James Gilmer, Hillsboro, Gay and Mark Fletcher, Beavercreek, and Gladys and Emmanuel Sang of Beaverton and son and daughter-in-law Kirk and Claire Becker of West Linn, 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

A memorial service was held Dec. 18 at Holman, Hankins, Bowker and Waud, 715 Seventh Street in Oregon City.

Interment will be at a later date at Willamette National Cemetery.
