Shasta Kearns Moore
ADVERTISEMENTS
Shasta Kearns Moore was named editor of the West Linn Tidings this week.
Kearns Moore will also remain serving as the editor of The Southwest Community Connection, where she has been since 2008. The Connection is one of the Pamplin Media Group’s monthly newspapers serving Portland’s Multnomah and Hillsdale neighborhoods.
“I appreciate Shasta’s willingness to assume more responsibility,” publisher J. Brian Monihan said. “This is a great opportunity for her and she brings years of newspaper writing, design, photography and editing experience to the position. I’m confident she will do a great job covering and getting involved in West Linn.”
Kearns Moore said she was excited about the change and eager to dive into the issues of her new community.
“West Linn seems like a really vibrant and involved community,” she said. “I’m really looking forward to serving such a dynamic readership.”
Before being hired at The Connection, Kearns Moore worked in Tillamook at The Headlight-Herald and interned at papers in Europe.
Kearns Moore graduated summa cum laude from The University of Oregon’s School of Journalism and Communication in June 2006 with a Bachelor of Arts and a Certificate of European Studies.
She is fluent in French and has studied Japanese, Russian, American Sign Language and Spanish.
“My passion for languages really started at a young age when I was enrolled at Yujin Gakuen, a Japanese immersion elementary school in Eugene,” Kearns Moore said.
Among her many travels, Kearns Moore has enjoyed extended stays in Lyon, France, St. Petersburg, Russia, and Tottori, Japan.
Congratulations to Ms. Moore!
I'm doing backflips! I wish her success and hope the Tidings can promote a better sense of community values and equal access for all West Linn residents.
Is there a chance my regular email addresss can be taken off the blacklist now?

Re: Kearns Moore named Tidings editor
One can only hope she'll be more balanced and objective than her predecessors.
