The festivities kick off at 2 p.m. with accordion music. And then from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., an authentic OmmPah band will be playing music.

All the while, Lil’ Cooperstown Pub and Grill will provide a beer garden. B & B Way Out West Barbeque and Catering will provide all the classic German cuisine – bratwurst, sauerbraten, German potato salad, red cabbage and Weiner schnitzel.

“We’re just going to try to create a little atmosphere with music, food, beverages in West Linn,” Geil said.

Geil said the city is providing logistics for the event. The celebration is being planned and organized by longtime resident and mayoral candidate Alice Richmond.

And there’s even a plan for rain. An event tent will be set up in the parking lot of the park, where party goers can move to in case of poor weather.

“We hope it stays dry,” Geil said.
