Authorities arrested the pair after a months-long investigation involving drug distribution from West Linn to the Polk County area.
The case began with the bust of a Western Oregon University student, who was high when he stole a police cruiser during a traffic stop, leading officers on a chase before crashing, according to news reports.
Investigators tracked down the 19-year-old’s drug dealer, who pointed them toward a supplier in West Linn.
According to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, several controlled buys led to the seizure of 89 tablets of ecstasy, about 3 grams of powder used in ecstasy, 30 grams of psychedelic mushrooms and more than a pound of marijuana.
West Linn police assisted Polk County authorities when they served a search warrant at 1780 Sunset Ave. late Dec. 5.
Polk County inmate information checked this week showed bail set at $250,000 each for Morgan and Simpson.
