During discussions with planners, Carson said, it was unclear whether the revisions might affect other properties in addition to her own.
It turns out the updates could affect one other parcel in addition to hers, although it’s unclear whether both properties are large enough to subdivide in the future.
That’s Fox’s concern, as planners have revised their recommended code changes to allow some irregularly shaped new lots “as necessary to respond to adjacent streets that deviate from the standard grid pattern.”
As of Tuesday morning, the Oregon Government Ethics Commission hadn’t processed a complaint against Carson. Once received, the commission’s executive director is expected to determine whether the case is in the commission’s jurisdiction.
The council, meanwhile, has extended the discussion of modified Willamette Historic District design standards, which intend to help preserve the height, size and setbacks as a way to define and showcase the neighborhood’s character.
Concerns other than those about Carson’s lot stem from a requirement for original windows and materials, which could limit the use of energy-efficient, double-paned windows.
The council’s next regular meeting is at 6:30 p.m. March 22.

Has everyone else also noticed that any time there is trouble and controversy brewing in West Linn, there is one person whose name is always involved? LYNN FOX. I don't know the woman, wouldn't recognize her even, but it seems all the discord revolves around her constant allocations. I can't help but wonder what is missing in her life that she always has to be causing such turmoil. Take up gardening, or theater going, or reading. Anything but the constant allegations and problems you stir up. Is it for your own entertainment?
I for one am tired of it! The message from your neighborhood association is pretty clear: others are tired of you as well. Go away!

"Enough" makes a very good point. In other communities I've lived in over the years where there has been periods of contention it has always come down to a few people who, like activists everywhere, have learned that if they shout long enough and loud enough they'll get a few others excited enough to jump on board.
And, like monomaniacs everywhere, they usually overplay it and become known for what they are.

How many more months until the November elections....time to clean house in West Linn City Hall.

I wonder how people like Carson, who is up for re-election, have the confidence they are going to continue to railroad the citizens and play act in the little empire they think they have created and get enough votes to continue their charade? Council, along with staff is bordering on delusional. The biggest disservice Jordan and the council did to the staff was putting them in the political mix. Come November, if the votes are in the right position, first Jordan, then in lightening speed take your pick on the rest. It will be brutal and swift. Of course, this is just my humble prediction but I am usually right as I have been watching this for many years and I keep a good score card.

Let's not crack wise about the unemployment line, we know these are volunteer jobs.
Hence, no stable rational citizens have any interest in taking the abuse we fling at our city council.
Quite the self-perpetuating conundrum, eh what?

Of course she didn't participate in the discussion. According to the video, she met with the planner on the side. So, no need to actually do anything in the public eye. Then she submitted her changes for the council to approve, using the planner to be her delivery boy. I think there are more issues at stake here than ethics.

Re: Historic lot puts WL Councilor Carson in hot seat
So, Carson disclosed the situation and didn't participate in the discussion. From what's in this article it sure looks like this is just one more example of the petty dysfunction that keeps putting West Linn politics in the news.
