When Patti Galle picks up a cause.... Well, first, let me stop there. Galle doesn’t merely pick up a cause. She embraces her causes.
And when she heard about Project POOCH, choosing her next big project was an easy decision. She loves Project POOCH. Literally.
“I love Project POOCH.”
It’s what she wrote in the material dropped off here at the Tidings. So what is Project POOCH?
The aptly named program is a non-profit that matches shelter dogs with youth at the McLaren Youth Correctional Facility in Woodburn. The kids train the dogs and then put them up for adoption to the public.
You see, it’s an extremely worthwhile program. And it gets results, too. According to research done on more than 100 youths who went through the program, none have re-offended.
And it’s coming to West Linn. More accurately, it’s your chance to get involved in this heart-warming program. Galle has organized a fund-raiser event July 14 at Mary S. Young Park called Pooch in the Park.
The day of fun and games for you and your pooch will raise money for the program.
